On Jan. 28, the opening ceremony of the Hisense-Helwan joint air-conditioning factory was held in Helwan city, Egypt. The Vice President of Hisense-Kelon Electrical Holdings Co. Ltd., President of Helwan Company, and the Minister of the Egypt Military Industry Ministry were present at the ceremony.


Ren Liren, Vice President of Hisense-Kelon Electrical Holdings Co. Ltd., said that Helwan Group was an excellent representative of Egyptian enterprises whose history goes back 53 years. The opening of the joint Egypt air-conditioning factory indicates that the cooperation between Hisense and Helwan has entered a new stage and the globalization of Hisense Group continues to develop.

Located in Helwan City, the air-conditioning factory mainly produces split type and window type air conditioners. In 2009, Hisense launched the “street-sweeping project” in Africa in order to adequately strategize in local markets. Hisense plans to establish new production bases in Africa for air-conditioners, refrigerators, and TVs, while developing new markets and increasing Hisense brand market share across the continent.
